ABOUTPaula Batali Textiles was founded in 2014 by Paula Batali, with the vision of creating modern versions of classic and historical designs. Drawing inspiration from the colorful energy of her native Rio de Janeiro, the poetry of Brazilian music, the glamour of Bossa Nova style, the lushness of the forest, and the healing powers of the blue-green ocean, the result is an elegant and timeless collection rich in color, beauty, and fantasy.
With excellent craftmanship being a priority, all designs are drawn and printed by hand with hand-mixed pigments. Using these traditional printing techniques in combination with ecological clay-coated paper and linen produces wallpapers and textiles that are beautifully textured and unique. All products are handmade to order in Los Angeles.
Founding her own studio is the culmination of Paula’s long career as an entrepreneur, designer, and lover of beauty in all its forms. She has previously opened one of the first organic restaurants in Brazil, owned an event planning company focusing on the entertainment industry, worked for two of the most renowned interior designers in the United States, and picked up a Master’s in Interior Architecture along the way. She has also traveled extensively, something that has enriched her life and brought both breadth and depth to how she approaches her work.
Paula Batali Textiles has grown a loyal following of industry leaders and aesthetes who share her design philosophy, with features in Elle Decor Magazine, and Ellen DeGeneres' book Home.
